Chiropractic care is a manual therapy which focuses on biomechanical function of the spine and the effects on the entire nervous system.  The practice of chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the structure of the spine and the function of the nerves. The nervous system is the ‘information superhighway’ that links the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body.   Chiropractic care is a non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical approach to health care.

A Vertebral Subluxation Complex, or subluxation, occurs when a joint in your spine has decreased motion and inflammation which interferes with the transmission of our nerves.  The spinal cord allows the transmission of information from your brain to every joint, muscle, organ, and tissue with the body. Reduced mobility between two vertebrae can affect the nerves that leave the spinal cord.  An interference with this transmission can cause dysfunction within the body.  Every movement of the body, from a tail swish to jumping, must be integrated between many different nerves and muscles.  If the nerve function to these muscles is interfered with, the coordination decreases.  This break down in transmission leads to lack of movement, uncoordinated movement, or decreased overall performance.

Various stressors in your animal’s life, such as physical macro or repetitive micro-trauma, among other things, can contribute to subluxations.  Chiropractic care helps to remove subluxations, allowing the body to send proper signals along the nerves.  This leads to the body functioning at its best and results in increased, overall health.
